Who should pick which

Amazon Q Developer is being retired. AWS closed new sign-ups on 15 May 2026, the Q CLI became Kiro CLI, and IDE plugins and paid subscriptions reach end of support on 30 Apr 2027. New users can't choose it. Pick Claude Code for a terminal agent from Anthropic, from $17/month. If you're tied to AWS, compare Claude Code with Kiro, AWS's successor, which also offers Claude models and has a free tier.
